Spin finishes are used as processing aids in fibre production, texturing and processing. They reduce the friction and subsequent wear of the fibre or yarn, provide cohesion between fibres and thus act as antistatic agents, lubricants and cohesive agents in a variety of textile processing operations and offer a high degree of anticorrosivity in either an oil or water soluble form. They are used to control the fibre-fibre and fibre-ceramic friction.
